BEYOND TME (2008)

for soprano, bass clarinet, cello and piano

 

Tanpinar’s poetry is usually associated with Bergson’s philosophy. This piece tries to highlight this relationship and is built on the Bergsonian concept of “duree”, where two contrasting temporalities coexist together. On hand there’s external time, which is physical and calculable, and on the other hand there’s internal time, which is nothing but a flux of consciousness.
